Honda 9.9 oil pressure

I have low hours Honda 9.9 (S/N commences BABJ1004 etc). Low oil pressure light comes on after starting.
Have checked oil condition and level all good there.
As main engine (honda is a aux. motor only) has 260 hours I would think 9.9 has around 26 hrs. run time so I find it hard to believe oil pump the problem.
Suspect sender or circuit issue but I have no data on this or location of sender, I can rig mechanical gauge and pressure test sender but again do not have on/off state impedance values.
Would appreciate any advice.

When was the last time the oil was changed?

Four Strokes have a tendency to make oil.

Re: Honda 9.9 oil pressure

Hi,
I do not have any service logs but oil is very clean and only needed small top up (less than 200 ml.) to bring up to level.
Starting cold a bit slow but I think auto rich is issue here, once started ticks over nicely.
No binding on turnover, I will need carb adjust etc. as I imported boat ex Idaho and now in Sydney @ sea level.
Engine is a (I believe the term is) Kicker for Duckworth 19.5' advantage (roughly 6 mtr in our measure).
Main engine (fresh water cooled Redline 351 W (5.8 Lt.) hooked up to a AT jet which has obviously serviced recently (all lubes, filters etc. clean) and Honda is pristine under the cover.
Thanks for your assist.

I don't know the 9.9, and don't know if this motor is new to you, but on the Honda 8HP (circa 1991) the green oil pressure light comes on to show you there is good pressure.
