honda 9.9 4stroke-no spark

The motor is practically new, less than 10 hours, but has not been started in over a year. I do not seem to be getting fire to the plugs? Any ideas? Is there an easy way to check the deadman switch? Thanks for the help.

How did you determine that you were not getting spark?These things operate on a high compression,cold ignition format and that ignition output test ,so apparent in it,s westeren cousins,can leave you guessiing.Do the test in a dark room then fill us in.

Okay - I tested it in a dark room - definitely no spark.
