Honda 7.5 hp year/waterpump ??

i have a 7.5 hp 4 stroke honda. i need to id the year to change the waterpump the model is a BL75L . the sn # looks like 1701324 .I also need any info on dropping the Lower unit to change the water pump , mainly is there a shift rod that i need to disconnect ? if so how . i have changed a water pump before but not on this motor , thank you for the help

Get,Dont know procedure on your motor you should be working with a manual anyway.<br />Napa auto parts lists impellers for your honda.

Removeing the gearcase on this unit is hard the first time but routine after that.The hard part is releasing the shift shaft and even that is not very hard with some guidance.The shaft is released at the top,under the motor cover and just behind the linkage you see moveing when you shift or throttle.You will see a spring arc with a little roller on it and a cogged cam that the roller rolls on.Connected to that cogged cam with a little pin and cotter key is the top of the shift shaft and that top unscrews from that shaft allowing you to remove the gearcase.Tell me if you are with me so far .

Im with you Hondon, and my motor is a bf100 1984.<br />If you could continue with your instructions (even though you started them three years ago according to the date!) that would great.....<br />thanks,<br />dave.
