Re: honda 50hp extension case
I've been working on this motor since the water pump failed and burned the block deck and caused pitting since last summer, I found an old motor with good block and I decided to install the crank to this block and as far as I know it seems to be turning smoothly by hands.
I was working on this yesterday and noticed that some kind of metallic looking paint with what looks like a resin was peeling off on the surface of the extension case where it mates the oil pan gasket and from the looks of it it could cause an water pressure leak on this mating.Today I decided to sand off the surface on top of the table saw with wet sand paper (learned this from you tube) and I am hoping that it will work but I was wondering if I should use a sealant in between the gasket and a extension case.
any experience is welcome or advice
