Change plugs every spring, alway sta-bile gas and run before storing. After trolling for 1/2 to 1 hour and I start to trottle up slow but steady,(not tromp on it) when its up to around 1/3 to 1/2 trottle(sometimes) it will start to miss and shake and naturally won't excelarate anymore , but if I back off the trottle and retrottle back up it will clear up and run perfect and also idles and starts fine. I also drained the carbs and the tank and made sure it was clean ,changed the fuel filter and put in fresh premium gas .

Re: Honda 50 problem

I never add stabil to my fuel before I pull my boat up for the winter and it runs great once I start it up again in the spring. Even with that in your fuel all winter long it doesn't do it any good IMHO. Do you check and drain your oil before starting it up in the spring? My cousin changed his every spring before launching his boat and hasn't had any major engine trouble at all.

I am a firm believer in sta-bile, gas now days breaks done to fast and can gum your carbs, and yes always change oil before start up in the spring. I have alway been a believer in preventive maintanence.
