I just came across the wealth of info on this website maybe a day too late!!! Anyhow, I am purchasing a Honda 4 stroke. Did I make a mistake by not going with a fuel injected brand such as Suzuki. It may not be too late to change if the info here comes back showing I made a big mistake with the Honda. Any input would be appreciated.

thanks

slake,

The EFI types are very nice because they offer turn key starting and no risk of carb. fouling.

However, the Honda is a fine engine with a fine reputation. As long as you maintain it, it should provide years of trouble free, smokeless running with great economy.

The resale is good too!

What I like about EFI is they start right up. No choke, no hesitation, no fuss. It will soon be on most size motors from all makers. Enjoy your new engine :)

Re: Honda 4 stroke 90hp

I bought a Honda 90 6 months ago and so far have no complaints. Besides having to squeeze the primer bulb before cold starts, I can't tell the difference. Honda has been building carbed motors for a very long time and carb technology has improved vastly over the years. From motorcycles to lawn mowers and generators to outboard motors, if Honda puts carbs on them, I believe they will work fine.

a honda well thats like a low price BMW not a bad choice. I think you have purchased the best outboard made to date. My 8hp 97 runs unreal compared to the mercs and force I have used.
