Motor starts fine but either at idle or under power will suddenly lose power intermittently. RPMs fluctuate around 550 to 650 and if I don't prime the fuel line bulb it will die. Ran the engine with another fuel tank with high levels of sea foam. Left sit over night. still the same problem. Ran the fuel lines dry and blew them out from the Vapor Separator. Change the fuel line from the tank and changed water fuel separator. Also changed the high pressure fuel filter 15 hours running time ago. Recheched it today and it is clean. Sometimes the engine runs fine for 5 to 10 minutes without a problem.

When the problem begins if I get to the primer bulb fast enough it will not die and will idle fine. Bulb is not flat and it does have some fuel in it just not hard.

I thought when a fuel pump goes it just dies. Do Honda pumps die a slow death?

Try checking the high pressure fuel filter on the side of the VST. Sounds like a clogged filter or air entering the fuel system somewhere. Checking the fuel pressure is the best way to diagnose a fuel problem.

Make sure there is no issue with the boats gas tank breather. Try running engine with your gas cap open.
