? Honda 20 vs. Tohatsu 18 ?

My apologies if this is not an appropriate question for this forum. I am trying to decide between the Honda 20 & Tohatsu 18 O/B. Is the power output of the Honda significantly greater than that of the Tohatsu? If so, is it worth the additional price compared to the Tohatsu?

Power is about the same, maybe even a bit better with the Tohatsu. Matter of fact rumor has it that Tohatsu is just going to market the engine as a 20hp next year. Price is only a question you can answer I know in my area Honda is much higher priced compared to other brands and I personally don't see any reason to spend $800+ for a Honda with the same options as some other brand. But that's me...I'd rather use the money to pay for the gas needed to drive to work so I can pay for my toys. )))

Honda is giving a full 5 year warranty on all their motors right now...they cover everything clear down to the decals

I think the warranty versus the price is where the decision should be made. Two additional years of warranty versus what ever the cost difference is. Piece of mind is worth a lot....So is $800.00
