Hi gang, new to the forum (and thankful that I found it).
My question is regarding a 2hp Honda that I just got from a friend. He said it's about 5 years old, and considering the condition, that seems about right. The throttle is slide mounted on the front of the engine, not on the tiller handle.
When I got it, it still had almost a full tank of gas from last year, but after a few pulls, started up, in typical Honda fashion from what I've heard.
The only thing is that, I can't seem to reduce the throttle setting more than a 1/4" below the 'starting' setting. Any lower and it dies.
Is this normal, should I be able to reduce the throttle setting to its lowest position or is there more range provided than what is actually useful?
From what I've been able to locate on the 'net, old gas can cause varnishing of the passages and cause problems.
Would changing the heat range of the sparkplug help at all, or either not worth the time, or not recommended.
I haven't been able to locate any schematics or instructions on the 'net as to how to disassemble and adjust the carb and haven't been able to locate either a Clymer or Chilton book locally, even the library didn't have one, although I know that they are available.
Also, it appears the propeller is made of nylon, can I get an aftermarket one with different pitch?
I live in Kamloops,British Columbia Canada and any help that can be provided would be gratefully appreciated.
Thanking you in advance

tinbird
