Honda 15hp "New or Used"

I'm in the market for a Honda 15 hp outboard for a jon boat. What are the big differences between the older "Squareish" (2001-2002) and the new "Sleek" (2004) models?<br /><br />I can get 2001 fishing camp motor for about $1400 or buy a brand new one for $2300 from a local dealer.<br /><br />Does anyone have experience with these (15hp) outboards?<br /><br />The boat is rated for 15hp and will be used mostly in salt water at slow (No Wake) speeds.<br /><br />Thanks for your time.<br />Regards,<br />John Jolley<br />

Are there any Honda experts that can shed some light on the differences, strengths or weaknesses of the "Older version(s)" of portable Honda outboards and the "New" version? This is the rrepair and Troubles Forum.<br /><br />Probably work better if we move it to General Outboard (non-repair).
