I got a 150 hp Honda and when I troll the idle jumps up similar to a car when stopped at a traffic light. It will idle then jump up and back down. I spoke to a mechanic that said it shouldn't do that. Something is wrong. Does anyone else have a 150 hp honda and do you experience the same problem?
Thanks

So give us a little background. Is this a new occurance or something since new?Hours on the unit?Compresion #'s would be nice if you have them.Fuel samples are always nice as well.Idle with these engines is really quite impeccably stable.

Brand new. The dealer I spoke with this spring mentioned that something must be wrong as his opinion was the idle was also flawless no riding up and down. I didn't know as I am downsized from a diesle engine and haven't run an outboard since 2000. I knew the 150 is the same engine in the civics so I figured it might idle the same. I know my car has a idle that gets kicked up on occasion, I assume by a sensor telling it to increase the idle. i just assumed that the outboard was the same deal. Problem is the outbaord reving up made it hard to keep a constant speed when trolled down and my wrist would be kiling me from constant adjusting all day. I guess I'll bring it in to the dealer that said it wasn't right and let him check it out.
I was curious if anyone else owned one and had similar idling characteristics.
