Honda 130 RPM issues - Tach or rev limiter?

I've got a 2001 Honda 130. After 5 months of no use, I ran it and my tachometer ranged much higher than normal.

Usually (for the past 6 years) it maxes out at 5200-5300 rpm at full throttle and trimmed up.

This time, it would easily go over 6000 rpm ? sometimes close to 7000. It didn?t seem like it was running any differently than normal.

Is this a Tach error? Rev Limiter problem?
