I recently purchased a '99 Honda 130 and would like to know how much oil level is represented on the dipstick by the "crosshatched" area? ie: If the level is up to the top is this full? and halfway down is half a quart? It is quite a long area on the stick. Haven't changed the oil yet so don't really know exactly where full is. Also, what kind of oil consumption is normal for this engine? Thanks for any info, Nick

Re: Honda 130 oil level

Nick, think about your dipstick this way. This should go for just about any piece of equipment.

The upper mark is maximum, the lower mark is minimum. Half way in between the two is perfect. Anywhere in between the two is safe.
Above the maximum is nearly as bad as below the minimum.

Experience has shown that an engine performs better, has less crankcase pressure and less blowby with an oil level less then maximum.
