I have a 1999 Honda 130 that just recently had the new block, head, and fuel injection recall service completed, thanks to Honda. While this service was completed the dealer also had to install a new master motor relay and ECU. The motor ran well for awhile and now has trouble idling and starting when warm. Dealer indicated they were receiving error code for MAP sensor. Evidently on this motor to get a new MAP sensor you have to buy a new throttle body according to the dealer. The MAP sensor is held in by two screws and has the Denso part number 079800-4580 5V PS-34. Has anyone been able to just replace the sensor without buying a throttle body? Since these motors are suppose to be based on the Accord motor wouldn't a MAP sensor from the car work?

Re: Honda 130 MAP Sensor

That's a good question. I checked the MAP sensor on my Acura Integra and the number is 079800-3000 5v PS-30. Similar but different but its not the Accord engine. My guess is you can go to the Honda or Acura dealer and you will find that the Map sensor off of the Accord that matches your engine block (is it a I4 or V6?) will be the same one as your outboard. MAP sensors are available as individual units from the Honda Automobile dealers if you can find the right one. Price should be about $65.

Re: Honda 130 MAP Sensor

I gues it pays to check other dealers if available. Another dealer was able to contact Honda Tech and get them to go back and check the blue prints for other sensors that will work for this engine. Just in case it happens to others, when the MAP sensor comes in, I will post the part number.
