honda 10hp 4stroke stalling

i have a honda 4stroke fitted to a dawncraft 25 which keeps cutting out when selecting reverse, forward is fine with no problems, seems to have plenty of power, ran for 3hrs but soon as i wanted to moor up selected reverse and it stopped putting me in a muddle because i was only one on board, can anyone come up with any suggestions please

Is the motor at high or low idle, too low and it puts too much work on it, too high and it's too much of quick jolt for the motor to stay running, also you may want to check for a faulty safety mechanism.

Hi petty officer, thank you for your post, it was at low idle, I will try adjusting it and see if improves,

Hi petty officer, just to update you on the stalling problem, I have adjusted the idle and also adjusted the screw on the remote control and that has made it throttle up more quickly when selecting reverse
