Motor was submerge at the landing for about 10 minutes in four ft. of water. I drained and replaced the oil and tranny grease. I took off carb and blew it out. Pulled and cleaned plugs. Hosed off motor and electrical with fresh water. Cleaned fuse that was corroded. Pulled cord and she fired right up. She ran smoother than she ever ran for about an hour. Shut motor down and sailed for three hours. Fired motor up with one pull. Then it happened the motor died. I pulled the choke to full choke and she fired right up. I pushed the choke in and she died. After several attempts I got the hint and left the choke out and idled back to the dock. While idling I tried squeezing the fuel bulb but it was hard.
What do you think? Pump Filter? Dirty carb? Stuck float?
Is there anything else that I might have missed as far a resuscitating a drowning motor?
