Does any one Know the last year Honda made the 10hp 100 black and white model. I'm looking at one for sale. The owner says it was his fathers and had been used only once and stored, looks to be in new condition. Owner thinks it was purchased around 1980. Any suggestions on what to look for. The owner is going to find a drum to start it in. I'll try to get a serial number. Any help apreciated. p.s. any prep. prior to attempting to start? Thanks.

Re: Honda 100 Black & White

Last month I purchased a B100 10 HP Honda with a serial number of B100-1009101. It is dark blue and white. One of the Honda dealers here in Eastern Canada tells me that the Serial number is dated 1978. If this is true then maybe you will have some idea of your year by comparing your number to mine. Good Luck. (My motor works great)

I'd pull the spark plugs & squirt or spray some kind of lubricant in each cylinder & then pull it through a few revolutions first neutral then in forward then reverse.Drain the carb, pump the bulb till you get good flow, check oil on the stick and in the lower unit.I'd be a little nervous about an impeller that old but--- .
