I am considering building my own cargo style bimini for our monster mt1 tower. I don't really care for how the monster cargo bimini mounts (sits too far forward) and it is expensive. I have a family member that can get sunbrella at cost and can sew. Probably going to go with conduit to make the frame.

Anyone have any experience building their own bimini. Where is the best place to get parts like mounts for the tower? I would like it to come down quickly because I garage my boat after use.

rochfordsupply.com They are in in minnesota. they have the best availibility and prices allong with marine hardware. I have been using them for over 10 years. They are competitive and supply a lot of Mfg. as well as canvas shops. I have biolt custom monster tower shades which used velcro to wrap the top arround the tower posts. the other side went to a single bow held in place with heavy duty elastic straps.
This allowed extra clearence for towropes and rope changes while providing shade for the driver and spoter.

Go with Aluminum tubing.
Mock it up in EMT, then make the finished product in Aluminum.

A little more expensive but it will not rust in a year like EMT.
Use the money you are saving to buy quality, not beer!
Check the yellow pages under Aluminum, or Metal Distrubutors.
You can get it locally in 21 ft lengths.

OnlineMetals.com can ship it in 8 ft lengths.
MetalsDepot.com has it in 12 ft.
