Eons ago, the steering cable in my 3-point broke. It took a left turn at near full speed. The sponson bit in, threw me around the cockpit but did not cause a flip. The water over the sponson went straight into the exposed carb. Water doesn't compress like air/fuel does. Ruined the cases, rods, pistons and cracked the lower unit.

That was a high pucker factor.... on a scale of 1-10 I bet that was more like a 500!!!

I've noticed that whenever you hit that point where nothing but the prop is in the water, a lot of bad stuff starts to happen.

Ouch, thats gotta hurt. At least he was able to get out and not have to swim very far. Maybe he was in a hurry to go to the potty, but if it was me, it would have been too late after that ride!
