Well, time to look ahead to another week in Motorsports (NASCAR in particular). After Harvick "flamed out" last week because of "crappy-*** parts," NASCAR has added a new rules package to protect the driver and keep the flames from happening. They are adding a dam behind the splitter, I believe, to deflect the air and keep the rubber and insulation on the track from being thrown up against the rocker panel. They are replacing a plastic wheel section with stainless steel and they are giving more clearance for the exhaust. The verdict is out.

Kansas Speedway is an asphalt oval with 17-20 degrees of progressive banking in the turns, 9-11 degrees of progressive banking on the frontstretch, and 5 degrees of banking on the backstretch. The 1.5-mile track located in Kansas City, Kansas began hosting NASCAR races in 2001.

Saturday at 12:05 is practice with qualifying following at 12:50. The race is slated to run at 3PM on Sunday and can be viewed on the USA Network.

Erik Jones won last week followed by Hamlin, Reddick, Joey, and Bell. The 4th place finish for Joey puts him in the overall lead and leaves Cindric (2 points), Dillion (4 points), Briscoe (10 points), and Flamin' Harvick (13 points) as the 4 men on the outside looking in.

In Fantasy, Jip took the checkered flag. We go into the Kansas race with Smokin' in the lead followed by Jip and FlaCowboy. Osby is in 8th place but gaining on 7th!

I only got to watch about 4 laps of the race. Got home and found that Bubba Wallace won the race followed by Hamlin, Bell, Bowman, and Truex, Jr.

As for Fantasy, only about 3 points separate Smokin’ from Jip, so we need to wait till Tuesday to declare the Fantasy winner.

Osby’s apparent 6 place finish means he had another “Top Ten” finish.

I drove 550 miles yesterday, traveling home from vacation. We stopped for dinner before making it home.

I was 3 laps late in adjusting my picks, switch Harvick for Elliott. I would have gained 36 points. With that I still would have been in 6th place. 🤔. I missed all four of the match up picks. 🙄

Congratulations to the winner.
