This is supposed to be a 1965 model.
Don't know if its a 16' or 18'. I know that would help.
Seller is "unavailable" for a while.

Can we tell what model this is with these photos?
Sure would be nice to have inside and outside of transom, but not yet.

I have looked at hundreds of photos on the web, iboats, and the brochure section.
Something doesn't quite match up in all of them.

Holiday has a gullwing hull. And I believe it had this style windshield in 1965. ?
What is the obvious difference between the Nassau and Jetstar? Do both have the rounded shallow v?

Help guys.

That windshield looks the same as my '65, which I believe was the last year they used that design. Id say it looks like a Dolphin/Nassau since it does not look as deep as a Jupiter. Check out page 5 on HA's thread and you will see a link to the '65 brochure.

Re: Holiday - Jupiter - Nassau ???

Roscoe - Jets are 15' while Jupiters are Nassaus are 16'. Jet have less freeboard, Nassaus are a little deeper with a totally flat floor while Jupiters are deeper again with a flat floor. Going by the side panels and if it's 16' it might be a Jup. 18' my guess is Holiday The side panels are deeper that my Nassau. The '65 snippet brochure shows a Jup with the same windshield as the one you posted. EZ's '66 Jupiter had the same WS as my Nassau with the support bars except his had the vent in the center of the WS. I looked at another '66 Jupiter with the same vent. The '65 Holiday in the brochures looks like it has the support bar WS. I hope I'm not telling you stuff you already know.

The SC sales literature is very confusing - mixing tin and glass, re-using model names like Holiday (first tin, then glass and finally back to tin), making tin and glass models that look identical except the hull material and other things like not enough pics (in and out at least would be nice),

BTW - the ??? you posted looks nice and clean. Hope the seller becomes "available"

I see 73Chief and I are at odds. I just put new side panels in my Nassau and they taper down to 6-7" in the back. I "think" your pics show more depth. Wish there was a transom pic.

This brochure, listed as 1965, ( I suspect it is not from '65) shows the windshields as having support braces on the sides.

Jupiter, Jetstar, Nassau, and Holiday, all the same.

This brochure, shows no braces on the windshields, except on the Holiday, so its not a Holiday.
It actually has "1965 and '65" in the brochure copy.

The Jupiter is listed as having stern handles on the transom, can't see from these photos.

Jupiter is also listed as having 4 step pads, bow AND stern cleats, as standard equipment. !!!

Looks like its a Jupiter, hopefully will know more in a few days.

Was hoping it was a Holiday for the bulk and higher hp rating.

But at least the Jupiter has the gullwing hull.

Also found a '71 Holiday OB 18'
5I85Gb5Mc3K63F63J9c4fb00792f35a7014be.jpg

that matches my '71 Holiday i/o 18'.

So... matching Holidays? that almost match my 73 Mariner CC 18'.

Or the Jupiter?

I know, get both. But I'm running out of garage space and motors.

Roscoe - Admit it, you have MBS. Only treatment is to feed it. And rent a warehouse. :D

GA I could be all wrong (im still a noob on tinnies) it just does not look as deep to my eyes as the pics of Jups. I beloved both were that shade of green so that does not help much... Roscoe I can email you a scan of either or both models out of my brochure if you want.

Re: Holiday - Jupiter - Nassau ???

Thanks Chieftan, but not needed.
I already copied those pages and they are nice and clear, threw them up on the 32" monitor and can read everything.

Talked to the seller today, briefly.

It is 16'.
Has no BIA , Coast Guard, or Starcraft ID plate.
No model designation on the title.
He didn't remember if the bottom of the transom was flat, or gullwing.
He is going to take transom and beam measurements, and get back to me.

I was really looking for a boat to put my vintage 90 Merc on, but that would be illegal in Wisconsin.
But, I I were to make up a new rating placard that said holiday 120, I doubt anyone would bat an eye with a 90 on there.

But I would never do that. It wouldn't be right.

That's good to hear, Roscoe. That sure is a nice blank template. Glad you finally heard from the seller. I think a Jup takes up to 85hp, if I remember right.

Re: Holiday - Jupiter - Nassau ???

Ok, went to check it out, its a Nassau for sure.

Almost all original, very very nice condition.

Only a few tiny scratches in the paint.

Has solid sliding doors under the spashwell.

Sleeper seats with the sliding metal frame. Very good condition, one split, appear to maybe have been repaired at one time.

Even has the old 2 prong 12v electrical plug outlets for handheld spot light, which he said he had in the garage.

Gauges do not work.

'71 Johnson 50 hp.

Exposed metal under the dash/bow area has been painted, carpet replaced, 2 non-Starcraft cleats added at the rear.

Trailer is old, but solid.

I told myself I would not buy it unless it was a Jupiter. Had to fight and argue with myself all the way home.

I think he will take $900 for it.

So, if anyone is interested, its in Baldwin WI, about 25 miles east of the MN/WI line.

Sorry it wasn't a Jupiter, Roscoe. Maybe it didn't look like my Nassau to me cause it's so clean. One of the tI was looking for in the pics you posted was the rear facing bow vent. I finally saw it it the CL ad. Yep, those are nice decals.

I bet that was hard to walk away from. Good luck in your hunt for a Jupiter!

Have a great week!

Re: Holiday - Jupiter - Nassau ???

oh, those decals.

Yes, hard to walk away from, took me about 40 minutes to get in the car.

Definitely a Nassau.

It does have the original Starcraft rating plate, 75 hp.
3 knee braces on the transom.
And no gullwing hull.
I measured the transom just to make sure.

I want something a little more stable, and a seat height that is more than 9" off the floor.

The negative was the poor running '71 Johnson 50 hp and the pulley steering system could have used a new cable.

I wanted to repower with one of my existing motors, which would mean running illegally in WI, (over the rated 75 hp) and buying a new longer wiring harness for the motor.

Hey Roscoe,
thanks for your response in the other thread. Yeah I've tried getting in touch with the guy a few times and he only texts me back at about 6:30 in the morning. It wont really fit my fishing needs so I'm holding off for now but it does look like a beautiful boat.
