I have a 1997 5hp Tohatsu, M5B. There are 2 holes on the oposite side of where the prop is, at the very top of the lower unit. I am assuming this is for exhaust but not sure. Can someone please confirm this thought.
Also, is there supposed to be water coming from these holes or just exhaust?
I ran compressed air into the "peehole" and plugged up, with my finger, the tube that connects to the water pump, and there was no decrease in air movement and could hear the air escaping from elsewhere. Where that elsewhere is I don't know. When the motor is running there is a minimal amount of water coming from the "peehole".
And what is the correct name for the "peehole"?
