I need to pass the wires from my gps through the dash. The instructions just skate over this process ( mount the unit and connect the wires ) I think they forgot that very expensive fiberglass that separate the components ... OK , Does anyone have a way to make that hole look net ? I am thinking like a 3/4 sj connector or two 1/2 inch sj connectors . I have to get the manufactured plug and the antenna through the fitting.

Re: Holes in dash

I would try to send it through in one hole if possible. You can use tape over the fiberglass to make a cleaner cut and a small hole saw. These two steps will help reduce chipping. Check any boating stores near you to see if they have any gromets in the size you need that would cover the edeges of the holes. Then try to stagger the fatter parts of your wiring so they do not pass through the hole at the same time. One it is in place you can use silicon if needed to fill the hole in around the wires to keep it water tight. You can ten unplug your GPS from the topside leaving the harness in place.
