Re: hmmmm

When I lived in PA I seen an Amish buggy pulling a brand spankin new sparkly flashy bass boat before. I took a pic of it but I lost it when my cell phone died. Coolest thing Ive seen in a long time...

Amish Starcraft!!!

I hope they clean up the crap at the boat ramp. :D Maybe they just use the trolling motor so they dont have to burn any gas?

Re: hmmmm

They seem to be particularly fond of Starcrafts!

If you check some of the Starcraft brochures you can see a picture of an Amish man riveting a tin hull. Being in NE Indiana there are many Amish folks near the company HQ and they do excellent work.

I would imagine that they may have done work on the trailers and were returning the boat to the owners?

Nice find Bob:)

Re: hmmmm

Thats awesome, I am gonna have to show my wife and kids that picture Bob :)

When my dad and I ran the charter boat years back, we got a call from a guy who wanted to get out the next day on a trip. He was in the same town as us and asked if we would mind picking him up on the way to the boat because he was Amish and did not drive. This was on the west coast, greater Seattle area.

No big deal, picked him up and the first thing he did was take out his hand held GPS out of his pocket and asked me to help him set a waypoint :D hahaha

Re: hmmmm

An Amish guy near me runs an upholstery shop.
He does a great job on custom boat covers, and full canvas replacement on pop-up campers.

I bet he would pick the boat up if he was getting paid. But I think I can deliver it the 20 miles, faster than he can make the round trip with his wagon.

LOL! Thats funny! Maybe they were doing some wood work in the starcraft,

like they build there hand made wooden electric fire place mantles for there free donated heaters as seen on T.V for $299..... And remember your not paying for the free electric heater..... Your paying for the hand made and crafted wooden heater mantle........ LOL..........:p:D;)

Re: hmmmm

I was doing some reading today in an old Popular Mechanics mgazine and found a interesting quote from Starcraft's head of distributing back in 1968.

"Our plant is right in the middle of an Amish Mennonite settlement, and these people are steady employees, good at working with their hands"

Just thought I'd post it in case folks thought I was making that stuff up;)
