Had a Taurus years ago, either 4-6" bbl, have a Colt 45, like the Desert Eagle 45 and Glock 9 and 45 (shot Glocks loved em) 45 and 9 ammo getting pretty close in price, any hints guys? Oh the tat, kids giving me some ideas :)
P.S. Cheaper than Dirt has some good prices, also a great nearby, local gun store - need to check them out again :)

GET a TAT, then you can have them all, up and down your arms, across your chest, anywhere else you got enough skin.

I cut my teeth on a Glock 23C .40. I really like the way a (nearly any of 'em) Glock shoots. Desert Eagle has a serious "cool" factor, but I find that monster rather impractical.

I'd look at a Glock 9 if it was a carry gun (you're just carryin' more rounds).

as for cal. I like .40. I have two .45's and love them as well but I love the .40. easy to find too.

as far as brand, I just can't bring myself to get a Glock. Looked hard at one with the last purchase but wound up going back to Springfield.
I have the XD40 and love it!! Also have the XDs and just got it back from the shop. like the ittle bugger but it does torque quite a bit with the .45 in such a small package.

I also have the Taurus .357. I like it, and have not had any "problems", although after 75 rds or so she does tighten up a bit. good to go again after a thorough cleaning. also have a Taurus in .38. has a screw under the cyl that keeps coming loose.

my recommendation spend an extra $100 and get a Ruger instead.

I can never understand the fascination with a Tax Return (I think the OP means Refund). It's not a Lottery win, the govt are simply giving you YOUR OWN MONEY back that they've had for a year and aren't even giving you interest on the 'loan'. So why the great desire to go out and spend it?????

I agree. I do my best to make sure I owe them money.

I prefer the Smith M&P but the Glock is a good gun. The XD is barrel heavy in my opinion. Cheaper than Dirt tried to screw all of us and most including me have boycotted them.

I have heard from many folks that they thought the M&P had a serious bite to it when shooting. One fella I know had his for a week and traded it in on a Springfield. hmm never noticed a barrel heavy feel to it. never shot a Glock though only Springfield and my other auto is a Kimber.

I did like the feel of the M&P in the shop though.

I had 4 Glocks and they didn't seem to feel right for me. I went to the local indoor range that rents guns. I took my Glock 17 and rented the XD and M&P in 9mm to compare. Now I have no Glocks and an M&P. When you get them together the differences are more pronounced. Everyone has certain guns that will shoot better for them. The 1911 is probably the best for me but I don't like the low capacity so went with the M&P.

I'm glad that you want to spend YOUR (was always) money on something like a firearm.

The 1911 has always felt right to me. John Browning was a genious. Caliber-your choice.

My 1911's are all .45. A little heavy for target. I am looking at converting one to .22.
