Re: HITMAN 65 GOONMORNING LONEWOLF
Well Lone,
I can give you a little detail on the wiring.
The Blue lead is the Low-speed stator lead.
the Red lead is the High-speed stator lead.
The stripers are the equivelent to a ground but are not really true grounds. they complete the circuit in the stator. The first test that you run on the stator is the output test. set the fluke to a minimun or 400 VDC. connect the red lead of the meter to the blue lead out of the stator and the black lead to a ground on the motor. crank the engine over, should read 200-310 VDC. Next check the Red wire output. Connect the red lead of the meter to the red lead of the stator and black lead of the meter to engine ground. leave the meter set on 400 VDC and crank the motor, should have a voltage of 20-90 VDC. If either of these fail the next step is a stator resistance check.

To do this you disconnect all four of the lead of the stator from the switch box.

take the meter and set it to x1K ohm red meter lead to blue stator lead, black meter lead to blue/white stator lead, crank motor should have 6800-7600 ohms. then red meter lead to red stator lead and black meter lead to red/white stator lead crank motor should have 90-140 ohms. if any of these fail change the stator.

Long reply but I want you to get this thing fixed. Let me know how it goes.

Also we can TS the trigger if you would like. I have the book lying right here beside me so I can take it right from the shop manual.

Hitman
