Hit sandbar, what should I do now?

I hit a sandbar at nearly full throttle. It was only deep enough for prop to hit as boat remained floating. I obviously got out ok and boat is running ok I think but I am just wondering if I should do anything or inspect anything to make sure all is ok. I don't think it got up to the water inlets and I don't think sand got in but who knows. No sand up near the thermostat. It polished the prop pretty good and I think the prop spun on the hub a bit (I had marked it when I installed the prop after water pump replacement) but I had no other prop related problems after that. Anything I need to do?

I hit sand too often. Sometimes hard enough that it hurts and pisses off the wife  Probably enough that I should get a flats or bay boat. It's better than hitting rocks or oysters:cool:

Just watch the temp gage.

sounds like you got lucky--remark your prop and check for spin

not a problem, except possible prop spin--which is unlikely from one hit. That usually happens if you get that clunk that stops the motor cold. A little sand stirred up won't matter either. Boats are tough.

I agree on the "watch the temp" sounds like you got lucky, Look her over real good and do all that is advised. If your not noticing any problems or anything differant, you should be OK(hopefully), I've hit mud and clay before with out any problems.
