Need some help, I was going about 5-8mph down the river and I hit a rock with the prop. The engine immediately shut off and would not start back up. (I still have battery and there is plenty of fuel) When I turn the key the starter works but the engine will not start. any ideas? Engine is a 30 hp 4 stroke Suzuki

That kind of shock sometimes shears the flywheel key, Bobby. That is what I would check first.

I have also heard of some of those engines breaking the crankshaft, just under the timing belt sprocket, after such an event.

For your sake, I hope it is not that.
