I ran over a crab pot, the motor truned off imediatly. I then tried to restart and it wouldnt. I lifted the outdrive and realized what happened, got towed to the ramp and got some tin snips and cut the pot off. I ran the motor on a hose in the driveway, there were no unsusual noises or anything like that. Seems like i got lucky and nothing was damaged. Is there something i should check to make sure nothing was damaged? Thanks.

First get a wirecutter and cut off that trap. Next spin the prop and inspect the blades and see if the prop shaft is straight.

I did the same thing, however, it was at my dock at idle speeed. I had no damage.

Oh crab...
you are probably alright, but it is a good idea to carry a spare prop from now on because the sudden stop may have caused your prop to be spun. You should try to accelerate very fast and run the engine at WOT if you feel that you have lost power or if the engine revs up to fast without giving comparable power you should replace your prop.
