Hi ? I'm restoring a Thornes, Thornflite 15' aluminum, power boat.
It's a fun project but the history on this company and its boats are practically non-existent outside of a vintage brochure and some Kijiji sales on the web.
I don't even know what year it is, nor did the guy I bought it from. I transferred the boat license via Transport Canada but no year is listed.
Does anyone have insight or links? Here is what I have so far:
? boat and trailer manufactured by Fabricated Steel Products (Windsor, Ltd.);
? boat is branded as 'Thornes' and the trailer as 'Mastercraft Trailers';
? QC labels inside the boat read: (1)#10536, semi-finished boat; and (2) #26347, 15' DF, signed Billy B.
? the Department of Transport (Canada) plate reads: DOT113046, rated 50hp, 1195 lbs.
? In the brochure, they seem to be paired with Viking outboards and sold by Eatons.
