Re: high security boat storage

Be my luck somebody would still steel the boat :D. I wonder if they did that for a practical joke, not every day that you see a crane lifting a bass boat. I know they lift machines and stuff up high to keep people from steeling them, I'll be danged if I'm going to lift my own boat up in the air, especially after seeing the thread with the brand new yacht sunk at launch thread. I wonder what that thing would do in high winds like we had here in Bama last night.

Whenever they build a bridge around here, they have to have a jon boat, in case someone falls in. Every night, said boat gets strung up on crane. Must be a big bridge to need a bass boat to rescue people.:D

HAve had the same thing here this summer, rebuilding an interchange over a river. Compressors on one crane, boat on the other.

We see things like that around here sometimes - compressors or a stack of ladders.

Always makes me wonder if the crane operator left the keys in the crane...:)

thanks guys, ya learn something new everyday i guess. makes sense to have a rescue boat around when yer building a bridge i reckon. seems like it'd be easier to launch w/o the trailer on it though....... this is gonna be a pedestrian walkway between omaha, ne. and council bluffs, ia. it still looks very secure to me hangin up there like that though.......

They do hoist them up for security at night and on the weekends when no one is on the job site.

You've got to be kidding. A PEDESTRIAN walkway from Omaha to CB? Are they attaching it to an existing bridge or is it free standing?
