hi, need help, please-- 7.5 merc

hi everyone, i have a mercury 7.5HP short shaft, manual start, 2-cycle,2 cylinder..-- serial # 6547273

need help, please... im not so good with outboards but it looks and sounds like its mis fireing one cylinder( uper one) it was also leaking gas through the carb, but i canged out the gaskets, hoped that would help it, but it only stoped fuel leak.
it starts fine but u cant rev it up, NO POWER, just whole lot of shaking and vibration. what do i need to do with it, what parts do i fix/repair(im do-it-urself kinda guy) please let me know, thank you for your time...

Do a compression check and check for a strong spark on both cylinders.

thank you for ur reply. will do that over the weekend, but i noticed that my upper cylinder is black and wet and more dirt than the one below.

do you think there is something wrong with the upper one/cylinder, itself. and not the whole ignition system. since im not so great with outboard repair, need alittle more tips & pointers....thank you very ...
