Hi-Lex Controls w/ Johnson outboard?

Ok... trouble.. I bought Hi-Lex controls a looonnnng time ago.. they have instructions for Johnson, but I think I must have the wrong cables... can anyone tell me for sure?? My cables have holes on the ends... The cables must secure the slots in the 2nd pic, but how? one cable has an octagon section that "ALMOST" fits, but I'd have to bend the tabs out a bit. Any ideas? Also, I flipped the throttle lever over per instructions so it will push (instead of pull) the cable, but it still seems to pull..???

There are 3 different cables for the various controls. Check the iboats store. Last summer I ordered the wrong set and ended up exchanging them....... look at the cable ends very carefully and also the ends that the motor needs.

Bob, can you look at my pics and tell me what you think? Maybe the universal cable ends would work? I can probably make the post 79 cables I have work... but I'd hate to alter anything just to find that the correct ones are out there!
