Milwaukee Brewers, 22-10 and the best record in Baseball. It's about 80 today, and the grass is green, kids been ridin bikes carrying their gloves and bats.

Sorry to see your Red Birds slumping but they are the returning champs so I would expect to see them back near the top by seasons end.

Things here in Wisconsin are getting a little weird. People actually talking about the Brewers and a general buzz about their team's chances this year. It's been 25yrs. I enjoy going to their former farm team the Beloit Snappers (now Minn. farm team) and had a chance to see Tony Gwinn Jr., Prince Fielder play for 6 bucks and free parking. 15 minutes from home. But I think I will be dropping a few bucks at Miller Park to see them play this year!!!!

To those who don't know it, minor league baseball is great, cheap fun!!!

Pointer, I think I saw your Beloit Snappers in this area playing the Lansing Lugnuts a couple years ago. I haven't been in a while but Minors are cheap fun.

BMB,

Your lugnuts have that beautiful stadium downtown. And they are off to a great start this year. Best in the teams history I believe. Michigan is becoming a magnet for minor league teams I think. :)

I bet I have spent 50 nights in that Holiday Inn on Saginaw Highway, just east of Grand Ledge in the past year.

Yeah, they beat the Angels 25 years ago. Who was the big stick again? Gorman Thomas? Didn't know what a razor was?

Hey my Dodgers may have a say in any National League stuff, the Cards owe them one too . . . can you say Jack Clark?

Its great to see a buzz in the city again. It seems like everyday at work a group of us are talking about the Brewers.....hopefully it will last. For the first time in my memory, every starter has a legite chance to win when they step on the mound. For so long it has been just Ben Sheets and that was only when healthy. LOTS of young talent on that team, and still a bunch of it in the minors. Ryan Braun is putting up some huge numbers and should be our starting 3rd baseman next year.

So far I have been too 4 or 5 games, and plan on going to many more. Hopefully they wont all be like Saturdays game...............yes they won, yes it was a sellout, but when it is $1 hotdog night they next day isnt the greatest. $12 in hotdogs alone is a lot to digest.

Sorry to say that the Cards are not doing sxxx, if the Cards don?t make it I sure hope the Brewers do, anybody but the Damn Cubs. We have some pitching on the way back but it?s not the pitching, just look at the record we aren?t hitting worth a damn. Bummer.:(

I have a little something I've been holding onto since they went to the World Series back in 82 (and lost :(). Goodwill was selling a bunch of pennants proclaiming the Brewers as World Champs. Obviously a trial run that never made it to production. A definate collectors item for collectors of oddball baseball memorabilia. Waiting for another World Series appearance, wuddya think I coud get for it on eBay? Too bad I only bought one, but I suppose a bunch would've made the one less valuable. They sat on the shelves for weeks...months, and most were most likely chucked. Go Brew Crew!!! :D

23-10
JJ Hardy continued his hit streak now at 19.
Hardy and Prince hit Home Runs again
And the Worst pitcher statistically on the Rotation got a win under his belt.

Things are looking good........with any luck they will continue the trend.

Check out the schedule for the rest of the month. NY Mets, Atlanta Braves, San Diego Padres, and the Dodgers. All these teams are in 1st place (or within 1 game) and most of these games are on the road. This stretch will show whether they have the team we hope they do. The next 3 weeks are just brutal.

The good news is it isn't just good hitting and pitching, the defense has been stellar. (unless you are Gabe Gross) :)

I agree, the next month will tell the tale. At the begining of the year I thought if they could go .500 through the first two months they would have a real good shot at taking the division.

Re: Hey Tree, I'm gettin' Motivated

Wow fifteen replies on this thread, last year if it was up ,it would have sunk too the bottom by five. It?s a long season guys, and remember last year everybody beat up on the Cards, thought they were thru, guess what???:D

Our best picture just had elbow surgery, we have ?Moulder? coming back in the middle of the season, our hitting is in the bottom of the league, that wont last. Just got over a Funeral for one of our pitchers.

The Cards might not win the Central this year, but I don?t think they will be far behind the Brew Crew. If the Brewers win they will definitely earn it.They sure have everything in place to win, they went out on the off season and spent some big bucks and got the parts that they needed .Damn at least they could have left some "Soup: on our table.:(

For those that don't know what i meant by that last remark ,the damn Brewers in the off season stole one of our best pictures " Jeff Suppan"Grrr.

But Tree........if you didnt let us have Suppan, than me and my buddies from college couldnt have dressed up as cambell's soup cans last week Monday, and pin little miniature cardinals with "K"'s on there for each strikeout. You wouldnt honestly want me to have that kind of fun ? ;)

1. It would take more than a nights stay in a Holiday Inn Express to improve this bone head! No matter how soft those pillows are. :)

2. I feel like a surfer when it comes to the Brewers. Right now surfs up, but the summer is long and the competition is good. Right now I am just riding the waves.

3. Signing a player from another team who wasn't on the waiver wire is a new thing for the Brewers. Looks like money well spent at this point. But not only are they winning, they are a blast to watch play. They hit homers, play small ball, defense is awesome, and the pitching seems like a bottomless pit of talent. I can't count the number of games the bull pen lost in the last two innings of games last year.
