I live in So Cal not too far from OC actually. I live in Riverside. And you are correct that its gotten to be the Estados Unidos de Republic de Mehico. Rememebr the billboards saying "LA, Mexico" recently? lol. The Inland Empire area (Ontario, Riverside and Redlands) is pretty conservative. Forget Berdoo, its a mexican refugee hell hole. I know, I grew up there and have worked there the last 25 years. Theres a lot of (neo) libertarians out this way too. Glad to be a neighbor of yours!

If you worked there 14-19.5 years ago, and you say you did. I was a neighbor for a while. I was stationed at Norton AFB right there in Berdoo.
Went back a couple of years ago to go see a NASCAR race in Fontana. I'm glad I left, I'll say that, cause nothing had changed.

AK Chappy

Left L.A. in 1987, after having been born and raised there. Visits back in the mid 90's showed concertina wire wrapped up around the support post of freeway signs on I-10. As bad as these egg sucking liberals are in the Pacific Northwest, I'm extremely glad not to be in SO CAL.

The only thing wrong with California is what we used to say about New York. You put too many rats in a small cage and every form of abhorrent behavior comes to the surface. There are about 20 million too many of them. It used to be paradise on earth.

You can still get the best Mexican food there except for Tex-Mex in San Antonio.

Yeah Ive worked in the same building just off Arrowhead and Mill since I got out of the USAF back in '80. I always wanted to be stationed at Norton, Berdoo being my home town and all. But the closest I ever got was Holloman AFB, New Mexico. You aint misisng nuttin, the place is still a dump.

The concertina wire is to keep the taggers off the freeway signs. Scumbags. Youre right, the place was a paradise many years ago. When I was growing up in Orange County, LA and SB it was very nice. Now its just scummy from being @zz deep in illegals.

I respectfully disagree.

The best Mexican food to be had in the world is served in the locale of El Paso, Texas. While acceptably decent Mexican cuisine has become more widespread of late, few have tasted the very best.

I know this because for years, I ate chiles rellenos, enchilada, tacos, and other delicacies prepared in my own home by Spanish-speaking ladies from right across the river in Juarez.

To get back on topic...

Too bad the big international investment bankers are the ones who truly direct federal policy regardless of the wishes of the citizenry. The will to shut the borders certainly exists in Voterland, but Washington doesn't hear us.

Hey, this is my thread. :p Here is an axiom. With regard to Mexican cuisine the closer you get the border = on either side - the hotter the chile. If you are basing "good" on "Hot" you may have a point. I have freinds here who say the way to judge good chile is that you cry when you eat it and you cry when you expell it (paraphrase). My personal favorite is Enchiladas Suiza and if you are ever in Mexico City I recommend El Refequio. No pun intended.
Hey, I'm just posting for rank.posted by...
This was becoming a "rank" post. Thanks for turn it civil. ;)
