Man the fires in BC are ruining our beautiful Eastern WA summer with thick nasty head clogging, eye burning smoke.

My view this morning... normally mountains is now smog. To top it off we're expecting strong winds today too, yeah from the north so it's going to get worse.

That tiny dot in the center is the morning sun.

Same on the wet side, I was just in China, Seattle now looks like Beijing and Shanghai. You can taste the smoke in the air and it irritates my eyes.

I'll be in BC in a couple weeks and I won't be that far from the fires.

And it's been 48 days without rain in Seattle, and no rain in the forecast.

We don't get much rain on the eastside during summer so nobody notices or keeps track, just a fast moving t-storm or 2 is all and it's been since the first of June for any precip. There was so much snow pack in the mountains that the columbia river dams spilled water 5 - 6 weeks longer than they normally do.

The record is 51 days without rain in Seattle, it has a reputation for a lot of rain, but the year end total isn't that high, it just rains frequently, and it may be very light rain for days on end.

60+ days with out moisture around here, visibility some days less than 200 yards and we live 100 miles away from the closest fire zone.
Glad I have not been called out to work in the Thompson-Cariboo regions "yet" fixing the lines, its been 80-95+- degrees around here for the last 2 months and the Okanogan valley has been hot enough without the added ash falling and the really dense smoke.

Same here across the border in Omak / Okanogan, no rain since the first of June, kind of normal for us to have a few thunder showers now and then.

I'll be in Kelowna in two weeks, it's bad enough down here, up there it's going to be much worse.

Spent most of my summer working in Penticton, now in Vernon for a couple of weeks then back to Penticton. At least in the valley you have a big lake to go jump in if you get to hot. Kelowna and the and these other citys can get a little humid do to lake effect at times

Yeah we've had several days of air advisory warnings here in Edmonton the last few weeks, Yesterday it smelled like a campfire when I opened the door. 300 miles east of the Continental Divide and the smoke looked as thick as the pic a couple of weeks ago
