I have realised I am not a fishing person. When im driving around i feel fine but when i stop to do some fishing i get the morse disease :/

Driving is fine though....

Are there any cures i hope there are but i think im just sea sick...

Anyway i was just thinking with all the v8 ski boats etc... (which im leaning to buy even though petrol here costs 50c US a litre) why are they cooled from the oceans water? why not make them cooled from coolant like in a car with the radiator and everything or in conjunction with the morse water.. So if 1 fails you still have the other.. This way you would be able to start it on land and not hvae to hook up the hose and you wouldn't have to think about rinsing it.

? :D

You Still Need Both water systems to run on the trailer....
If one fails, Your Still Done, Out of Luck....
You Still need to do your Maintaince....

I was thinking kind of along the same lines, but a little different.

Now, this may not be possible, but my brother and I were talking one day and wondering if a VW Bug engine (older one) could be adapted for marine use.

I mean, its air cooled, you may have to modify it to be direct drive, and come up with a way to steer it.

Has anyone ever heard of this, or do you think it would be possible, not that I have a VW engine laying around, but you can find them pretty easy sometimes.

Thanks
Just a thought I have been wondering about.

Air cooled engines are used in some marine applications-particularly Louisiana mud boats and air boats.

However, they are mounted rather high in the hull to get a full air flow, especially around the exhaust manifolds.

An air cooled engine buried in an engine compartment would not only be short lived, but would present a serious fire hazard.

Good Point, I actually found an article after I posted that, that talked about VW designing marine engines, they had designed a 5 cylinder diesel that a guy had used and said it performed well.

Thanks for the reply, I was just curious, both my brother and I had VW bugs a one point and the engines are so easy to repair, unlike most marine engines.

:) Happy Boating
Rick
