Hesitation 97 Merc. 15 HP

I am using a 1997 Mercury 15 HP outboard with electric start. No problem starting hot or cold. My problem is when I give it throttle right after I start the engine, it will hesitate and stall unless I back off on trottle. I tried pumping primer ball as I advance throttle but does not help. I replaced gas hose line with new one just in case air was leaking, no help. After engine warms up it is O.K. Same problem occurs after fishing for half hour with engine off and than engine is started again.<br />Please help. Thank you.Please help

Have you tried adjusting the idle mixture?

I have a 1999 Merc 25 that does the same thing. Would you richen or lean the idle mixture??

Trent,<br />Thanks for replying. I will not be able to try to solve problem until May.I live up north in CT. Still too cold to be on lake.<br />Which way do I try to adjust ? Lean or Rich ?
