Here We Go Again???

OK guys, I've step by step eliminated all my fears and worries about the flywheel, switchbox, no spark (I definately have spark)and so forth. So I have spark, I have compression, now I'm left with fuel as source of problem even though I've rebuilt the entire fuel system including hoses. While trying to start my motor today I noticed that fuel would leak from the throttle shaft from both top and bottom carbs. I'm puzzelled by this as like I said I've rebuilt them according to the book (coffession, I'm extremely anal). Wouldn't the plugs be wet with fuel even while trying to start, cause I pulled the plugs just to see and saw no wettness?

Im not their. But Id check the float level. Did you measure it with the new gaskets on? Wooops I mis-read. Is your primer/choke working. Darn I cant remember the name of it tonight (tired) Working?

yes did all of that according to specs also I'm sure that the floats are not the problem because when I prime the bulb the carbs don't leak out the front and I physically can't pump the bulb any more.

Is it turning over at "full cranking speed"? Does it sound as if it wants to try to run? Fires?

yes full speed and no does not sound as if it wants to start. I made sure my battery is fully charged also before attempting to start the motor.

OK.

Make sure the three idle needles are preset to 2 aand 1/2 turns out from lightly seated.

Keep the choke depressed while turning the key and advance the throttle a LITTLE off idle.

It's gotta fire off, they all do. :)

-W

Ok did you mean the TWO idle adjustment needle/screws. If so then I only adjusted them 1 1/2 turns from lightly seated. Will try that tomorrow. Thanks.

WhoohooIt'saBoat

Get you a spray bottle and put some pre-mix in it and shoot some into the carb throats and see if it kicks over. Did you ever find anything out about the flywheel deal?? Are you sure the timing is correct? Let us know...
