My engine ran with hesitation at some points, and would stall out at times. Now it will crank, but wont turn over. I checked the oil, only to find a milky liquid. I pulled the valve cover and head to check for BHG, or any info that would help me figure out where the water is getting in. Here are a bunch of pictures I snapped from this afternoon.

All the bolt holding the head to the block had gummy stuff on the end

I dried most of the water out of the cylinders before I took this picture, but it seemed as if no water was in the 3rd cylinder. Maybe completely leaked out?

This is the only gasket that I saw this afternoon that was blown.

Could this gasket between the manifold and head be the culprit? I'm mechanically inclined, but this is the first motor that I have pulled apart, so any tips you guys can offer me with this project will be greatly appreciated.

Manifolds and riser are junk, Basically a GM motor so the Merc manual should work if you dont have a omc manual.
Clean everyting up , and it should still run.

Not to say this is simple, but do you think my problem is as simple as the manifold and riser based off the pics I have posted? This is labeled a yamaha motor, but are there any merc motors that would share a compatible manifold and riser?

Ayuh,... 1st post, 4th picture down,... The manifold/ riser joint looks like it was leakin'...

It'll fit the Motor, but not line up with the downpipe...

Try Capt. Ken at Nelson Marine dot com...

Alright. Im assuming the downpipe is the pipe going out the exhaust manifold leading to the exhaust... would I be able to get the downpipe matching the manifold, and make it work, since the existing downpipe was connected to the rest of the exhaust via rubber sleeve.

I'm not sure if I would easily be able to compression test the block.. are there specific symptoms of a cracked block? Just trying to figure out what else could possibly be bad before I begin shopping for a mani.
