Help with Year of motor

I just bought a 88 angler 18' with a 110 Evinrude Model #E110TXCUR if anybody has a year or any other info on this motor I would greatly appreciate it.

I believe it's an 87' model. I don't know where they came up with it but take the word "INTRODUCES" and change that to 1234567890. My 8hp Johnsons is J8RCOB, J for Johnson, 8 for 8hp, R is regular shaft (I think) and the CO is changed to "85" for 1985 model. The last letter is probably a revision or something. So E110TXCUR stands for Evinrude, 110hp, TX is probably a long shaft, and CU is 87, or 1987. R is just a revision or something

Hello.<br />R stands for Rope starter.<br />T=tilt and trim electric start.<br />X= extra long (25 inch shaft)
