I have a Bayliner Capri Bowrider Outboard and was curious if anyone has ever seen a bracket that can be attached to the stern for a transom mounted trolling motor? I really do not want a bow mount, even though I have a quick release Minn-Kota bracket. Seems that bracket has some sharp edges on it, not good for the skin. Besides the transom mounted trollers are way cheaper than bowmounts. Am I all wet in my thinking? Any suggestions? Thanks!

depending on what the stern of you boat is like, a picture would help.

The quick release bracket can have the sharp edges ground off. Simple solution. Most folks don't board a boat from the bow anyway and a troller is far more effective from the bow than the stern. With an electric steer troller you can operate it anywhere in the boat. With a stern mount you would need to sit on the stern to steer it and that will get you a ticket in my neck of the woods.

Thanks for your replies. Your right most folks don't board from the bowside. Think I will just grind them down like you suggested, going to be too much of a hassle otherwise. Thanks!
