Help with transom lighting, no place to mount :(

I have a 1989 Alumacraft T14S (with a 1969 Johnson)

There doesn't seem to be any really good way to mount a light there, because there are handles cut out of the corner reinforcements, so there is no way to mount a surface/flush mounted light.

Right now there is a shoddily mounted permanent light but it is only 10" and I need a taller one. I would also like a removeable post to get it out of the way when it is not needed.

Any tips?

have you considered the battery powered suction cup types?

I assume the hole for the "shoddily mounted" one is not a good place to start?

I would prefer a direct wire

no, not really, i will post a picture in a bit, I am going to try and fab a bracket out of aluminum and mount it somehow.

none of those would work but I fabricated a nice bracket out of aluminum stock, I will post a picture after I install it.
