Sure -- buy new tires and keep them covered when not in use.

If you look at your tires you will probably see that they are not cracked on the inside of the trailer. This is because they are kept shaded from the sun. RV stores sell tire covers in various sizes. Some people just cut out a piece of plywood to fit in the wheel well to cover the tire. I keep the tires on my motorhome covered at all times when not in use and after 8 yrs they still look new.

If your boat must sit outside in the winter it's best to take the tires off and store them inside. If thats a bother, jack up each wheel so its slightly off the ground. Each time you walk past, give each wheel a spin so the bearings are kept lubricated. As a minimum, keep the tires covered and at least put a wood board under each.

What is the reasoning behind putting a wood board under the tire? Is this just for winter time?

I'm from florida and we don't get that cold of weather.

I store my boat under some trees on my property. My tires just sit right on the ground most of the year. Is that a bad thing to do?
