Help with Suzuki outboard serial number -- foreign model (?)

I've done some research on how to decode Suzuki outboard serial numbers and I can't find any information about the number on my DT6 so I'm thinking it may be a code for another country (?) Serial number is 00601-715713-- I can't find any info on the 71 at the start of the last six. The service bulletin I found said a 1987 model should have 70 as the first two of the last six and a 1997 model should have 75. Doesn't list 71. Any body have any ideas?
