Help with Rollers on a 1977 EZ Loader Trailer

Hi All. My first post (of many I'm sure).

I inherited a boat and trailer from my Dad and Uncle. It's old, but something I hold in high regards since I remember it from my whole childhood. It has sat for a couple of years before I got a hold of it, but now I'm working on bringing it back. I've already done a lot of Electrical work inside the boat, and I've had someone look at the Motor and get that running decently again. I have now turned my focus to the trailer, I am ready to put on new Hubs, Wheels, and re-do the wiring harness on there as well.

My Question has to do with the Rollers on this trailer. As everything is on this, these are the original parts. When we launched last time I noticed that they are a bit.. sticky.. or tough to roll. Is there any way to take these off so I could maybe put some grease in there or something? Any help would be greatly appreciated.

:welcome: aboard strapstivis.

Okay I can see a few issues to start with. First, is this a total roller type trailer or are there bunks (runners) as well? I can't tell from the one close up picture. However what I can tell is you have a screw sticking through the hull. I would most certainly fit that before boating...JMHO! And yes I would try using oils or grease or whatever you can get in there to see if that helps. But you can also remove them and clean the rollers and reinstall with grease to help as well. Need more pictures to offer better suggestions.

Welcome aboard.

I think the rollers are the least of your worries.

What's with the screw through the hull about 2 o'clock and the damage about 11 o'clock?

Yea.. I know about those screws. A while back they replaced the floor in the boat and they must have gotten carried away when screwing it down. I know I can grind off those tips, but then I'm not sure what to do after that? That was going to be another post, but if you have any suggestions I will take those as well lol :). As for the Damage to the hull on the other side of the roller, I have no idea what happened there..

NO GREASE new rollers with plastic bushings in them

Unfortunately you have a big project ahead of you with the boat....

The replaced floor needs redone correctly.... Go to the restoration section and do some reading.... New stringers go hand and hand with the floor and I'd say they weren't done.

Also the offending screws must be removed and the holes repaired.
