Re: help with over rev???

You are running that boat on the pad at 5100RPM. When you turn, it falls off the pad and will ventilate. Only trim it that high, when you are running straight in calm water.

You could lower the motor on the transom, if you like. It will ventilate less.

and one more question is it hard on the motor or prop to trim the motor while boat is moving...fast...lol...cause at time i will trim the mor=tor out for a little extra speed but trim it down when approaching a turn....is this harmful??

Hi,

That is exactly why you have power trim on the engine. Mine is going up or down all the time. Adjusting for boat wakes, other water conditions, speed, and corners. I trim it all the way into the transom to take off and then out as I build speed.. Trim is your best friend. Well, next to a bikini in the boat with you.

Re: help with over rev???

i had a quicksilver prop that was called a high-five. it was very good for holeshots and corners. i had a three and a 4 blade but that high five rarely lost contact with the water. that was the best couple hundred bucks i've ever spent. are you running an aluminum prop? or stainless? and corm is right. your boat has a pad in it. try to do that in our lund pro-v and it does the same thing as you experience. but i only trim it way up if i want to haul a%$.

Re: help with over rev???

Hi,

They do not make a High 5 for the 50 hp.
I feel it is not cost effective to put expensive props on
smaller HP engines. If you upgrage to the 75HP then you could think about
a different style prop. IMO.

Re: help with over rev???

i was considering a 75 hp upgrade and seen a 2005 e tec was offered $2000 for my motor on trade and still had to come up with $4000 out of pocket...wasnt sure if this was a decent deal or not....was told there is still3 years left on warrenty...was also told the 75 on my boat could be a bit scary...it is rated at max 75 hp.....what do you think????,,,,anyone
