i just picked up an older 90s outboard model ns5b. im new to all of this and was wondering if there was a filter of some sort that sits in front of the choke? my motor doesnt have one and i see that there is some a piece im missing. marine tech at the nissan dealer said most small outboards dont use air filters, and tht i didnt really need it if it did. but i checked on the parts catalog and i am missing a part called a baffle plate. does it have some sort of filter element in it? im worried dirt and other crap might end up in the combustion chamber.
