Help with new fuel line and tank for 1984 9.9 Johnson please??

I am trying to replace an older tank and fuel line with a new 3 gal Moeller (or similar) and new fuel line with primer ball, etc...All I can find at West Marine and Gander Mountain is 3/8" hose and my existing is 5/16ths. Any suggestions or is 3/8" ok? I want a 6-7' line with primer ball and all connections. Does anyone have any links on where to order? Thanks for the help.

3/8" is fine, drb. It is actually better than 5/16".

There is no reason that you can't make a fuel line longer with the correct tubing.
