Help with Mercruiser gen i/gen II problem

Here is my problem - I have a 1996 Mercruiser 4.3L-XL and am replacing the outdrive. My new Mercruiser outdrive arrived and its a Gen II - I have a Gen I transom mount, etc. the outdrive is original from 1983. <br /><br />I got a steal on the outdrive, but shipping back and forth to correct the mistake, get a gen I, etc. is going to cost another $400 or so. <br /><br />Any other options?

no other way but to get the GEN I <br /><br />you would need all the other GEN II stuff to use the drive<br /><br /><br />tommays

Sell it Locally,..... At a Profit..........<br /><br />And Buy the drive that you Need,.........<br />There is No Swap......
